Established in 2019 as part of the national strategy to prevent violence in sport, the Signal Sports Cellule has progressively grown to become a key player in the integrity and safety of sport players.
Organized under the supervision of the Ministry of Sport and the Olympic and Paralympic Games, this National Action Group is devoted to examining all reports of violence, whether physical, psychological, or sexual, with the aim of protecting individuals and preserving the integrity of sport.
– A central role in the reporting process
The role of the Signal Sports Unit is essential! It is responsible for collecting and examining every report received. It then works closely with the Ministry’s departmental services to carry out administrative investigations under the authority of the prefects.
– Follow-up of proceedings
The Signal Sports Unit does more than just investigate reports. In fact, it goes beyond this by coordinating the efforts and correspondence between the sports federation referents for the administrative procedures required.
Another important mission is to actively direct victims to victim support associations, offering essential support in terms of listening and providing counselling.
– A huge field of action
With its wide-ranging powers, the unit deals with a variety of reports, including those relating to sexual violence, physical and/or psychological violence, sexist comments, coercion, and abuse, as well as situations of complicity or failure to report.
