During the last week of January, we had the pleasure of taking part in a meeting organized by the FNASS ( National Federation of Sports Associations and Unions) on the subject of training and retraining support in professional sports unions in France!

All FNASS member unions (SNB, AJPH (Handball), Provale (Rugby), UNFP (Football), UNCP (Cycling) and UNSHN (High-level Athletes)) accepted the invitation.

First and foremost, the objectives of the meeting were to exchange views on the problems encountered by each union, and to find solutions for pooling resources so as to go even further in supporting our members in their career training and retraining projects.

In addition, we had the opportunity to discuss the various solutions offered by three major players in training and retraining: APEC, transition pro and AFDAS.

– APEC

APEC is the French association for executive employment, and its aim is to support executives in their job search.

Different from Pôle Emploi, APEC identifies and brings together companies looking for executive profiles and former professional sportsmen and women.

It is not a funder, but it does have several training and skills assessment tools at its disposal. Finally, it specializes in corporate immersion, enabling job seekers to immerse themselves in the corporate world and discover positions of responsibility.

– Transition Pro

Transition Pro associations are present in every region and are coordinated by the national joint association Certif Pro.

As their name suggests, these associations focus on employees undergoing professional transition or retraining.

They offer a number of schemes for both employers and employees, including the PTP system (Projet de Transition Professionnel), formerly known as the CIF system.

Under this scheme, players who are still in employment can take part in training courses during their career and have their training costs covered up to a maximum of €20,000.

– AFDAS

AFDAS, your training organization, was on hand to present the full range of its services, and its ” ready-to-go ” training courses, enabling you to train in a wide range of areas.

During these discussions, we were able to discuss the difficulties encountered by clubs and/or players in setting up their applications.

Finally, during a lively and enriching exchange, we were able to present our different services, our ways of working and the various partnerships that could link us to training organizations.

Once again, we would like to thank FNASS for organizing this working group.

This sharing of experience will enable us to continue to improve and develop, so as to offer our members the best possible support!
