A new week and a new program!
We’re pleased to introduce the university diploma “Team manager of a professional basketball structure”, created by the basketball coaches union in partnership with the STAPS section of Grenoble University.
Well-known to French basketball players for several years now, this course will enable you to acquire all the skills you’ll need as a club sports director.
You will learn to :
– Develop and manage a sports performance project;
– Coordinate the evaluation and recruitment of players at the training center;
– Coordinate the provision of academic, sporting and logistical resources for a training center;
– Manage the financial resources made available;
– Know the legal framework of your activity.
To this end, the diploma will provide you with a team of instructors, mainly from the world of professional basketball, who you will meet in various clubs or sports unions throughout your career.
They will examine you at the end of your diploma, during which you will present the project set up within your club.
Validated after one year’s training, the diploma can be an integral part of a reconversion project co-constructed with the team in which you play as a professional player.
In fact, some clubs are now in a position to offer you a position as team manager at the end of your career, and can therefore help you to rearrange your schedule, enabling you to train while finishing your career on the court.
As for the pace of training, it’s a hybrid one.
You’ll have both face-to-face and distance learning courses:
– 2 days per month face-to-face at Grenoble University;
– 2 x 2 half-days per month distance learning.
All distance learning and face-to-face sessions will take place on Mondays and Tuesdays, so that you can be present in your clubs from Wednesday morning during the Grenoble sessions.
The course will start at the beginning of October and finish at the end of June, when you will have to defend your application.
As this is a university degree, it is of course eligible for all types of funding.
