Following the close of the Eurobasket U20 women yesterday, we wanted to take a look back at the exceptional results achieved by the players in this category!
Let’s start with those who, yesterday, won the 5th EDF U20 gold medal in this category in a one-sided match against Latvia (85-59).
They had eliminated their main opponent, Spain, in the semi-finals.
Ines Debroise shone in this final, as did Carla Leite, voted MVP of the tournament!
Carla had already shown the full extent of her talent last season in the LFB.
There’s no doubt that we’ll be seeing these players again at the highest level in France, some of them as early as next season!
Last but not least, the U20 boys group returned from Crete a month earlier with the same result.
These gentlemen won the 2nd gold medal in their history in a hard-fought final against Israel (89-79) and a fiery Noam Yaacov (31 points).
Voted MVP of the tournament, Ilias Kamardine also made his mark on the final. With his best performance of the tournament (25 points), he was well supported by his team-mates, notably Maxime Raynaud, who also put in an outstanding performance (26 points).
