On Tuesday evening, the SNB was invited by Collectifs sports to the “sport, medals and beyond” evening, organized on the premises of FDJ, with which the association has a partnership.
The aim was to discuss the integration of high-level sportsmen and women into the company environment, and how to manage these atypical profiles and exploit their full potential.
The conference was divided into three parts:
-A presentation of the association and the issue of integrating athletes into the corporate world.
-The 4th award ceremony for the sports skills program, rewarding athletes who have begun this integration process.
A round-table discussion in the presence of the CEO of Davidson and three retrained athletes.
We heard from Gary Florimont, former professional basketball player and founder of Athleo, Wendy Lawson, former French handball international and now a company advisor at Pôle Emploi, and Nicolas Rossard, former volleyball international and data analyst at Davidson consulting.
These enriching exchanges only serve to confirm the importance of preparing for a career change during one’s sporting career, and of helping companies to adapt to the profiles of sportsmen and women.
It’s interesting to note that a number of players who have played in our championships were present, proving that it is now possible to combine a basketball career with a career transition project.
