It was in the 1980s that the need to represent men and women basketball players in French championships emerged. Since then, the Syndicat national des basketteurs has continued to develop, with the main aim of providing solutions to the problems encountered by players both on and off the court.

So this is a good opportunity for us to look back at our various missions and the range of services we provide.

The SNB was set up in response to a number of problems raised by many players, and is currently structured around three main missions:

– Protecting: both during and after a player’s career, protecting players and their interests is a major focus of our work.

– Defending: whether it’s their individual or collective interests, we support players in all their dealings. Working to improve working conditions, the SNB is an active player in the negotiation of collective agreements.

– Representing: as an active member of many governing bodies, the SNB makes the players’ voice heard by collecting their opinions.

The SNB makes every effort to protect, defend and represent players. A wide range of services are available to players:

  • Legal support

At the heart of the professional world of basketball, the career of a professional player is characterized by various issues that may require specific legal support (contractual relations, application of regulations, integrity, etc.).

The SNB’s legal service, in collaboration with Derby Avocats, is ready to help you with all these issues.

  • Training-reconversion

The SNB recognizes the importance of the post-career period! Whether you are considering training, professional retraining or launching a training project, the SNB is there to support you.

  • Webinars

Every year, the SNB offers its members access to free webinars! Your training is a priority for us, and we know that it is essential to know the rules both on and off the job.

These webinars, led by professionals from the sector and covering a wide range of topics, are therefore an opportunity to learn about a wide range of issues.

  • Working with professionals

In collaboration with experienced professionals, the SNB is committed to offering comprehensive support to players. Whether you need to resolve administrative problems related to Pôle Emploi, questions about tax returns or any other concern, the Syndicat is there to help you.

  • Support for the CSE

The SNB plays a crucial role as a major player in the negotiation of the pre-electoral protocol and, more generally, in the elections for the Social and Economic Committee (CSE) of clubs. By assisting SNB-FNASS representatives throughout the electoral process, the SNB is committed to supporting and preparing these representatives for their future role as representatives.

  • Political representation

The SNB is an integral part of many governing bodies, whether through its participation in the various LNB and LFB executive committees, working groups or the agents’ commission…At the heart of these bodies, the SNB makes the voice of the players heard by gathering their opinions on various key issues at an early stage.

  • Rookie Program

Set up several years ago, the aim of this program is to offer comprehensive training to Betclic Elite and Pro B players who have signed their first professional contract and are in the first year of their contract.

Over the course of two days, the players take part in a wide range of activities (legal, social networks, refereeing, testimonials, training, nutrition, etc.), the aim being to prepare them for the realities of the professional world.

Committed to representing its members, the SNB is ready to support players, defend their interests and promote an optimal environment for all those involved in French basketball.
