This week, we take a look back at the career of an emblematic LFB player!

Elodie Godin has decided to call time on her career at the end of this season.

A native of Cherbourg, she played at the highest level for 20 seasons, during which she experienced practically everything: LFB, Italian championship, French team…

Elodie’s extraordinary longevity has made her an essential part of every team she has played for.

She played for 3 clubs in the LFB, for a total of 13 seasons in this championship, including 9 with Bourges alone, where she began and ended her career.

The other seven years of her career were just as remarkable, as she spent them abroad, notably in Italy, where she won the championship 5 times, the cup twice and the super cup once!

Speaking of titles, here’s her record of achievements in the LFB and the French national team:

Collective :

Eurocup in 2021-22
FIBA Supercup in 2022-23
French Champion in 2006, 2007, 2016, 2018 and 2022 .
French Cup in 2005, 2006, 2015, 2016, 2018 and 2019 ;
Federation Tournament in 2006

Individual :

Best prospect in the 2004 and 2005 French Championship
Best player in the 2005 Coupe de France final
Best player of the Italian Cup final 2014
Chevalier de l’ordre national du Mérite in 2013

French national team :

118 caps for the national team
European champion in 2009
Olympic vice-champion in 2012

In the newspaper Le Berry, her team-mate and friend Sarah Michel said of her:

She was incredible in her abnegation, fighting spirit, desire and intensity. She was one of the few players still like that. In the new generation, you don’t find players who do the dirty work, who give 100% of themselves for a team. It’s a rare profile, which makes her an incredible player.

Proof of Elodie’s impact both on and off the pitch!

The SNB team congratulates you on your magnificent career, Elodie, and thanks you for the quality of our discussions throughout it.

You’ve always been willing to discuss and build with the union for the benefit of the players, so thank you and thank you for them. A reference of choice!

Now it’s time for a well-deserved rest and new projects, in which we wish you every success!
